Top of the second, Oroys retire the side in order.
Now 3-4, Isotopes. Have our bats finally come to life? Thorman hits a two-run homer to right. 5-4, Oroys. Close call. Foul ball came up into the press box. Ducking is a wonderfully necessary thing. Gave it to two kids. First ball I’ve ever seen come up here.

Catcher John Buck is here on a rehab assignment from Kansas City.
5-4, Oroys still. It would be nice to see them get a few more runs here. End of four.
I’ve seen some tweets about all the celebrities dying. I know Billy Mays was a celebrity, but I don’t think you can put him at the celebrity level of McMahon, Fawcett, or Jackson.
The Oroys will be here until Friday, July 3, when they have their annual Fourth of July fireworks display. They won’t be back until after the AAA All-Star Game July 15, in Portland, Oregon. Hopefully, Alex Gordon will be rehabbing here by then.
Buck homers off the green mammoth in center. 6-5 Oroys.
Thorman doubled. Mommy, mommy, flying bat, flying bat. Buck’s bat breaks into two pieces. Ka’aihue walks. Metcalf doubles . 8-5, Oroys. Holy schnikes! 9-5. Free bowling. Free bowling.
Disco Hayes is now pitching. Submarine pitcher, too. Submarine pitcher, nice day, free bowling. Is this heaven? No, it’s Rosenblatt.
Home run by Raines to right field. 10-5, Oroys.
It sure is a happy day. Oroys win, Oroys win.

Royals down 0-1, after one inning. It’s 5 p.m here in Omaha. I believe we should be able to finish the second game.
Dusty Hughes retires the side here in Omaha, 0-1 Sounds.
There is a tornado watch for the Omaha area until 11 pm Central Time. Just very hazy here in Omaha. Nothing emminent on the radar. Hopefully, the watch will end up cancelling.

Time again for the “Steaks Race.” Corn makes it three in a row. Have the steak and beer figured out that if they fight, the corn wins? No.
Lisson homers to left. Oroys, 0-0.
Falu attempts a steal of second, out by a mile. No one on, one out.
Off the wall in right, Hulett doubles. Hulett picked off second. House out at first. Oroys, 0-0.
Saccomanno is up. And he is out. Vanzetti (Johnson) is now up. Vanzetti (Johnson) is out.
Borsheim’s dice roll. Winner again. Two nights in a row.
Buchanan doubles to left.
Lisson out at the plate. Still 1-0, Oroys.

It’s now 1-4. Oroys out. We lose 1-4. This just in, Cnn has reported that the Omaha Royals are conducting a six state manhunt for their missing bullpen. More later on.
Omaha Pipe and Drum performed the National Anthem tonight. Odd to hear “Star Spangled Banner” in Bagpipes, but it was still pretty cool. I still put this one as second to the Millard Youth Orchestra.
Ah, it’s good to be right. Hochevar is going to KC again. He will pitch Saturday against Toronto. I’m wondering a bit if they shouldn’t be sending Bruce Chen. He’s got MLB experience. I don’t know if Hochevar is quite ready yet. Luke needs to settle in a little more before I think he’ll be ready. Of course, I we’ll see Saturday. I just hope I’m wrong. Anyway, what about bringing up Chen. I think I’d rather have Chen than Ponson. Could Chen even do some middle or late mopup work. This is something the AAA Royals and MLB Royals could really use. He did a little long relief last night and didn’t look bad. Why not try to convert him?
Top of the second, no score. Duckworth has done ok. Be vewy quiet, he hunting a no-hitter. Alright, I just blew the streak. Johnson has a hit. So much for not messing with a streak. Johnson moved up to second. No pickoff try.
Ka’aihue walks. Thorman doubles in Ka’aihue, 1-0 Oroys. Metcalf K’s. Tupman K’s. Murphy K’s. Still 1-0, Oroys.

Raines, Jr. walks. Falu out at first. Still, Oroys, 1-0.
Duckworth has only thrown 61 pitches through four innings. It’s always the relief that seems to get us at the end of games.
Diamond Roll had a winner tonight.
Duckworth has pitched five innings, 80 pitches. I would think they’ll keep him in another inning or two.
Abercrombie picked off first. Two out now. Duckworth walks Manzella. Bogusevic out at first. Brandon Duckworth pitched through eight.
Marte pitching now. Three outs, get ‘em. He K’s Saccomanno. Smith out at first. The second out.
This just in. All posts about Omaha baseball (The Royals, the College World Series), will be moving to a new blog that you will be able to find tomorrow. Baseballist will still be your source for the Yankees and MLB information.
Towles reaches first on a controversial call at first. Can Marte get Johnson (Vanzetti) the third baseman out? Towles steals second and gets to third on an error. Johnson(Vanzetti) has a full count. Johnson (Vanzetti) triples. That is a crime. We had two outs and the win. Now, Gall singles and Johnson (Vanzetti) scores, 1-2, Red Rock Express.
One wonders what would have happened if we’d let Duckworth out there for one more batter. Of course, for the want of a strike, for the want of a strike the out was lost, for want of an out…
Falu singles to left. Wooo!
Falu to second on a sacrifice by Thorman. Kila Ka’aihue fouls out. House pops out to right. We lose 2-1.
